Wherever we take our dogs, we must keep them safe. Therefore we must be conscious of what their needs might be. If we are hiking around cactus, we best be prepared to pull out a cactus spine from our dogs paw.

• Shall we even think about snakes? You bet!
• Are there bears, coyotes, fox and cougars in the woods? You bet!
• How about the leash laws?
• Can we keep our pups at our side around town, next to our bicycles, while we are running or jogging?
• How much water do they need?
• How much rest?

We will take our dogs out on four woodland hikes, practice their sit and down stays, longer recalls, wait, leave it and even play with find it, you being the “it”. You and your dog will come away with more confidence, your dog with more self control.

• Let’s hit the trail with our faithful dog!
• Shall we ‘trail’ about town or your neighborhood?
• Shall we wander the hills for an hour or two?
• Shall we backpack or car camp for a day to a week?
